Life Rising Foundation focuses on the empowerment of women and girls because they are excessively affected by poverty and discrimination; and suffer abuse and violations in the realisation of their rights, entitlements and other financial problems. Also, experience shows that, when equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities overcome poverty, marginalisation and social injustice.

Across the world, women are disproportionately excluded from financial systems and the resources needed to manage households, limiting their ability to be self-sufficient, or contribute to the family’s income and decision-making. Money in the hands of women is more likely to be invested in family needs, such as nutrition and education. We try to create and continue to provide safe spaces for girls, especially those that have dropped out of school and might be at risk of getting harassed by locals. We offer a space where girls can learn new skills, play games and socialise with their friends within walking distance of their homes.Some girls are trained as mentors, and through them, the other girls receive training in health and nutrition, life skills, sexual health, financial literacy and livelihood skills.
